The members of the Kingsmuir Saturday Night Dancers have assisted Radio North Angus with a donation of £400.00.
The members, from across Angus, have been meeting every Saturday evening between 8 and 11pm, for the past four years, in Kingsmuir Hall to enjoy an evening of Scottish Country dance music provided by local artists such as Steven Carcary, Wayne Robertson, Johnny Duncan, and Scott Carnegie.
Finance had accumulated from the proceeds of raffles and surplus income and it was decided to donate £400 to RNA FM.
Accepting the donation from Mr Jim Bradford, Malcolm Finlayson, Managing Director, expressed gratitude to the members for their generosity and explained that RNA is being increasingly invited to provide music and commentary at outside events, and on occasion, is asked to relay the performances of artists through the PA systems. The donation will be used to purchase a further two radio microphones in order to enhance this facility.
On average, approximately 50 people attend the Saturday dances, and more members are being encouraged, particularly younger people.
The programme for the remainder of May includes: 17 May Wayne Robertson; 24 May Dave Husband; 31 May Johnny Duncan.
